Developing strategy and content for Maternal Spotlight’s social media audiences that is relevant to Maternal Spotlight’s work and impact
Researching other influential social media accounts and influencers for opportunities to collaborate
Assisting with Maternal Spotlight’s overall social media strategy and management to enhance our position as a thought leader in the field of Maternal Health research
Collaborating with Senior Management Team to plan Maternal Spotlight’s fundraising campaigns
Assisting with newsletters and direct mailing of appeals to the Maternal Spotlight community
Help maintain and follow the schedule for blogs
Stay up to date on new social media tools, best practices and how other organizations are using them
Research, identify, and engage with advocates, blogger passion groups, and media influencers
Other duties as assigned
Specific schedule requirements:
Requires 8-10 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Required qualifications:
Currently enrolled or recently graduated with a degree in Communications, Writing, Journalism, or related fields
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Meticulous and close attention to detail, with the ability to self-monitor for mistakes, troubleshoot, and closely follow a process
Passion for inclusive and equitable impact
Self-starter who will take ownership of a project and initiate tasks
Works well with others in a collaborative and inclusive environment
Proficiency in Google Drive and Google Workspaces
Strong interest/experience in health care and public health
Sample/History of Blogging or involvement in social media
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Linked In
Strong copywriting and editing skills
Strong eye for graphic design
Previous experience working with nonprofits or small businesses
