Senior Health Sciences majors at the University of New Haven spent their Spring semester learning about non-profit management, maternal health, and how to apply their education to addressing the needs of Maternal Spotlight and our community. As our inaugural student partnership, the class, led by Dr. Holzer and Dr. Deborah List, and guided by the board of Maternal Spotlight, especially Dr. Shilpa Londhe, developed strategic plans to help Maternal Spotlight expand its reach and create a sustainable non-profit business model. Their plans included strategies for fundraising, social media engagement, assessing our community’s needs, developing strategic partnerships, and more. We have been so excited to work with the students and benefit from the energy and thoughtfulness they brought to the project all semester.
